Selling gift bundle as generic

I have a question about selling a gift bundle via Amazon FBA.

I have sourced the items from different alibaba supplier(with no logo or barcode)

And I put my logo on package box only. And it was too complicated to get the brand authorization so I decided to go as a Generic product & and successfully got the GTIN exemption.

However, there's small logo on the side of the package box. Should I cover the logo with the amazon fnsku that I received in order to sell as Generic product.

It is good that you posed your questions before you actually began your intended actions.

I have a question about selling a gift bundle via Amazon FBA.

Don't make the biggest mistake FBA sellers seem to always miss. Make sure you test sell your products using FBM for a month or so first. that way you will know if there is enough profit in the product st pay all the fees Amazon will assess, and still be able to collect your desired profit.

I have sourced the items from different alibaba supplier(with no logo or barcode)

Bak omen. Amazon will want to see the COC for the products in your bundle. They must be from a USA based testing lab. Coming from China as generic, the manufacturer will not have the COC's to be sold in the USA. That is because they know the product will not pass USA inspection.

So to sell them on Amazon, you will have to have them tested at a cost of around $2000. That's when you find out they do not meet USA regulations.

More that likely, the product you are planning to buy is intended for sale in 3rd world countries who don't have any regulations. that is where most of Alibaba products go.

And I put my logo on package box only. And it was too complicated to get the brand authorization

Correct. While Amazon touts "Come and build your brand with us", they want sellers who already have what it takes to build a brand. Those are the sellers who have already done everything necessary to have the branded product sitting on a shelf in any retail store.

so I decided to go as a Generic product & and successfully got the GTIN exemption.

Bad idea, as you will not get away with it. Asking for an exemption for a generic product, is not what Amazon seeks. Selling a product and using the word Generic as a brand is rather foolish. Generic is not a brand, it is a word that means similar to the real thing, but not the real thing. Now what does that say about your product. It tells the buyer your product is not the real thing but a copy or knockoff. Sort of a poor way to start a business.

Do you know how retailers work with manufacturers? Generic products you are talking about are made specifically with no brand name on them, (Generic). They are made for retail stores, like you, to purchase and place their own name/brand on them. This can either be done at the factory or done in your own place of business.

Buy the GS1 UPC, it shows you know how to create a product from scratch.

However, there's small logo on the side of the package box. Should I cover the logo with the amazon fnsku that I received in order to sell as Generic product.

NO! You buy a Pad Stamper marching for $250 and design your own brand logo and place it on the product. With that one little machine, you can create hundreds of different products to sell, of which you are the owner.

Now, with all that said, you are on the right track. Just alter your product a little better so there are no COC's involved.

Where to find the products? the 2nd week of March 2024 the ASD show is held in Las Vegas. It lasts a week and only costs showing your retailer's license to get in. (You have one already, don't you?) it lasts a week, so look it up online.

Amazon shops there, Macys shops there, retail stores around the country shop there, thousands of successful Amazon sellers shop there, and so can you. Thousands of manufacturers from around the world display millions of products to sell. If you can't find a product there that is a good fit, there is something wrong with you.

Always remember, it costs no more to fail in online retail sales as it does to succeed in online retail sales. The difference is how much knowledge you possess to put forth in your endeavors at hand.
