Link Aadhar Number to Buyer Accounts to Eliminate Fraudulent Buyers or Scammers from Amazon Platform

Dear all Sellers,

It’s time we unite to address one of the biggest challenges plaguing us:fraudulent buyers and scammers exploiting loopholes in Amazon’s return and refund policies.

While sellers are thoroughly authenticated with GST and PAN details, buyers can create accounts with nothing more than a mobile number and email ID. If a buyer account is flagged or blocked for fraud, they can simply create a new account using a different number or email. This glaring loophole allows scammers to continue their dishonest practices, creating severe losses for honest sellers like us.

The Urgent Need for Action :I have raised these concerns with the Seller Support team and escalated the issue to Amazon’s Leadership Team, requesting a callback on my registered mobile number. I'm waiting for the call to address. However, our collective voice as sellers is essential to drive meaningful change.

Here’s What We Can Do Together:

1. Highlight Your Own Experiences:

Raise a case log. Share details of your wrong return orders, including the **Order ID**, to illustrate the widespread impact of fraudulent practices.

2.Demand Accountability:

Connect to the Seller Support team in your regional language and insist on being connected to the Leadership Team. Stress the urgency of addressing these loopholes and ensure your concerns are escalated.

3. Strongly Advocate for Aadhar-Based Buyer Verification:

Push for buyers’ accounts to be linked to their **Aadhar numbers** as a mandatory step. This unique identifier will curb the creation of fake accounts, ensure accountability, and reduce scams. It’s a crucial step toward restoring trust and fairness for sellers.

### Revenue Impact

These fraudulent activities not only cause revenue loss for sellers but also result in significant financial hits for **Amazon** itself. By addressing these issues, Amazon stands to reinforce trust within its marketplace, ultimately benefiting both sellers and the platform.

Fraudulent buyers not only exploit policies but also damage the ecosystem that honest sellers like us rely on. Let’s work together to bring this to Amazon’s attention and create a safer platform for everyone.

Join this thread by sharing your experiences, calling Seller Support, and advocating for buyer account verification through Aadhar. Together, we can push for systemic changes that benefit all sellers.

Let’s make our voices heard!

As an online seller, one of the biggest headaches we face is fraudulent RTO (Return to Origin) returns. Some customers place an order with no intention of keeping it, just to return it after it's been shipped. This leads to financial losses, wasted time, and extra effort. To make matters worse, delivery partners sometimes don't properly verify the details, which allows these returns to happen unchecked.

To combat this, linking a customer's Aadhar number to their account could help verify their identity and address before shipping out the order. It’ll make sure we’re sending products to legitimate buyers only. Another simple fix would be to require buyers to confirm their order before it’s shipped. A quick SMS or email confirmation could prevent unnecessary returns.

Delivery partners also play a key role here. They should be double-checking the customer’s details before they even ship the product, ensuring we’re not sending packages to people who aren’t serious buyers. If delivery partners are held more accountable, it could save us all a lot of hassle.

By taking these steps, we can reduce fraudulent returns, save costs, and make the whole process smoother for everyone involved.
