Forced Subscription Fees for other Countries

I am being charged every month a subscription fee for the Canada market, but I am a US seller who does not do FBA or FBM to Canada. Customer Support says I have to downgrade to an individual plan to avoid the $19.33 CDN monthly charge. Are US sellers on the $39.95 professional plan not allowed to select the countries they sell to; is this forced subscription fee for another country legal when a seller has no sales in that country?

US, CA, MX and now Brazil are all a part of the unified account, $39.99/month for all four.

If you have the NA Unified Account (Canada / Mexico / U.S.) that is a package -- the monthly price is $39.99 for all. If you use all three then you see that fee split up between them -- the total will be roughly $39.99, but will not be exact due to currency conversion.

If you want to see that fee applied only to the U.S. account you must delete any listings -- either active or inactive -- from the others and put them on vacation.

You must also disable synchronization (BIL -- Build International Listings) -- so that no new listings are added.

You will not save money -- still the same $39.99 fee.

You are not required to offer any international sales on Amazon, and I would discourage you from doing that.

Good Evening @Seller_kqGwX1h023oc7, it looks like you were able to get your question answered from some of our seasoned sellers on the forums regarding your Canadian subscription fees.

If any of their replies helped you, feel free to mark it as “Most Helpful reply” using the 3 dots in the corner of their post. This helps other sellers find the answer to your question at the top of the post just in case they find themselves in a similar situation.

I also wanted to share the help page regarding fees as there is a section titled Monthly Subscription Fee:

Professional Selling Plan: USD $39.99 per month* when you have active listings

Individual Selling Plan: No subscription fee

*If you have active listings in additional countries or regions using merged accounts, a different fee may apply. The subscription fee charge does not apply when you do not have active listings in any country.

Some of the sellers suggested putting a region on vacation mode as an option if you are not selling in that region. If you need help on how to put a store in vacation mode, I wrote a post about it here you are more than welcome to review at any time.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions on this topic and we'd be happy to help. Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Cheers, Cooper_Amazon
