Unfair Potential High Pricing Error - Cheated ???

I am encountering an issue while adding a new listing to my inventory (ASIN: B00820HMSS, UPC: 644209307593) with a total price of $8.99, including shipping. However, I received a message stating, "The selling price was identified as a potential high pricing error. Please review the potential pricing error."

I noticed that the only other seller on this listing offers "$4.99 + $5.49 shipping," resulting in a total of $10.48. If my calculations are correct, it seems like they are selling for less than my total price. Does the Amazon system struggle to calculate a simple total, or is breaking down the total between shipping and item price a kind of "cheat code" to avoid the "High Pricing Error"?

I find it puzzling that, despite offering a better overall price than my competitor, I am the one facing the "High Pricing Error" just because they separate the shipping cost. Is this considered fair in the marketplace? Can this be addressed and resolved?

I would prefer not to depend on offering shipping separately to my customers. Your assistance in fixing this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and support.

The Amazon BOTS are incompetent and do NOT (generally) include the shipping costs.

Two things-- try putting in min/max prices.

Second -- If you do NOT have approval in writing from the BRAND to sell on Amazon you may be headed for a suspension anyway so pricing probably won't matter.

As Neverlast stated, your high and low price can cause a pricing error. If you have one listed, make sure the high an low are above and below what you are selling it at (with any discounts) or you will get the pricing error. Make those edits, wait a while until you can leave and come back to the page to confirm the prices are in the system. Then try to adjust your price by 2-3 cents. This should fix it.

As to "why" you get the error and the other seller does not, it seems as if the bots always check when you create or edit a listing; but listings that were already there before the bot got the pricing info remain untouched, either until they are edited, or the bots eventually get around to checking them.

A poor implementation of a bad idea.

it appears its comparing to a competing marketplace, not another amazon listing. Not sure if that is WalMart or Ebay, etc.. Sounds like its a bot issue with not being intelligent enough to know that you are actually lower priced that that other marketplace seller

Amazon is a pandoras box of complex stupidity combined with inept support and very delighted customers. How dare you question the bots of Babilon. LOL

Take the shipping out of the price and make it Price plus shipping.

This is MOST frustrating when there are clearly higher prices already on the listing. Why is my "As New" copy of a book rejected for high pricing at $25 when someone else's "Good" copy is hanging around at $65?

Hi @Seller_xJvLGj8iCFpZ7, unfortunately there isn't much I'm able to say on pricing issues, but what I can do is point you to this help page on pricing errors and call out that Seller Support has responded on your case!

I have faced the same issue when listing as there is a couple sellers who offer their items very cheaply but charge shipping that is very high $15 to $20 for items that typically ship for $3.99-4.99! It seems the high pricing error bots ignore the total cost of the item and only look at the listed price, ignoring shipping cost.
