FBM Return shipping labels cost.
Long time ago Amazon took over this function from the FBM sellers for the sake of streamlining experience.
It provides automated return shipping labels to the buyers regardless who is at fault.
Good, but why ripoff the seller on return label shipping cost, more so if it Code 13 or 21 or any Code.Customer return.Safety-T claims deny those claims now.
We only use USPS for outbound shipping.Never UPS or FedEx or any other carrier.
It all goes by weight only, according to the USPS rule book, unless is ordered Priority mail.Media and Bound Printed Matter mail mostly.
Amazon is automatically providing the most expensive Priority Mail return shipping labels to the buyer, regardless that the outbound shipping was Media Mail.
The excuse was and still is, that it is a random pick by an automated system.Well, fix your automated system,so it defaults to the cheapest possible cost for the return labels, or it does not exceed the cost of the outbound shipping.
We don't want Priority Returns!
Is this too difficult to fix?
This issue is not new.It was never addressed properly by Amazon.

And there is a reason for that. Amazon wants to be a vague as possible, so the seller doesn't really know what to do. That way it is easier to take advantage of the seller. Even the return policy deductible fees are not in all one place and are explained differently to the buyer and seller. It is all, BY DESIGN, meant to create confusion.
When filing a Safe-T Claim is some cases you can deduct the return shipping as well as the outward shipping paid by the buyer.

Hello @Seller_KPO1tKzgqTWgy
I understand you do not want Amazon to create return mailing labels that are more expensive on the return than the media mail you use for outbound orders. I am not sure how the system chooses a carrier for the return, and I am going to ask the Seller Fulfilled Services team and see what they say.
Thanks, Susan

Sellers must pay for all return shipping, even though you set your returns with the setting "I want to offer Free Returns for none of my items" is a reality and Amazon knowingly does not care. I have tried to resolve this on the phone but got nowhere. The sellers just get screwed. This is Amazon seller life. When sellers stop making money then they leave the platform. But that is okay, because there are always new sellers on Amazon to take advantage of until they go out of business. As long as Amazon makes their 15%+ percent. Remember, profitability of selling on Amazon is not Amazon's concern.
