Pricing error but other's price is active
My listing was flagged as "Listings deactivated due to potential pricing error". Other's listing on the same ASIN is still active at higher price, why did mine get flagged?

Hi I have multiple High pricing error, its a huge problem and taking a lot of time for sellers and mods to fix. Amazon is also losing revenue as myself and others sell on different platforms as it is less time consuming to get it fixed on here.
I would suggest you open a case with seller support, they will say your price appears high and nothing will be done. Use the CASE ID to post, so maybe a mod will have time to help you. I am waiting for help on post from 2 weeks ago. -Sigh-

We have had this issue a few times. In our most recent incident, our price was in line with the 90 and 180 day moving average for the item, 30% under Amazon's direct price, which was the buy box at the time, and in line with comps from other websites.. Amazon's pricing algorithm apparently "locked on" to an extreme, not-typical price discount on Amazon and used that as its only basis in determining a fair price.
We tried multiple times to resolve this issue with Seller Support only to be basically told that they do not allow price gouging on their customers. When asked why Amazon's listing was still active at a 30% higher price, there was no answer. After a couple weeks trying to resolve it, we finally gave up and retrieved our inventory hoping that over time it would re-normalize.
This is one of many instances we have seen that clearly demonstrates Amazon's marketplace hard coded rules differ between Amazon as a seller and its 3rd party sellers.
Best.

The bots are typically triggered when you create or edit a listing; at that point, they compare your price to whatever "reference price" exists in their fantasy world.
But prices that were set prior to the bots discovering some irrelevant "reference price" don't generally get checked until they are changed.
I will point out that, depending on what reference price they are using, if you wait, you may be able to list at a proper price in the future. If the lowballed offer on eBay for a copy without the cover sells, eventually that will roll off of the bots' radar (yes, this is what I tracked one of my High Price errors to). I've had a few other books that remained a High Price error for several months, then I was able to RAISE the price by a few pennies and it took; not sure what "reference price" changed.
But if it's a 50 year old "List Price" for a book long out of print, I've never seen those recover.
It's a poorly designed bot, for a poorly thought out idea.

Hi @Seller_VgVA8Nop2012J,
I see the case is still open and being worked but if it moves to resolved without an update please tag me and I'll do what I can to assist.
