Amazon MX Fees

I have been selling for a few months and no problems. The shipping was always taken out of my balance and business was good. Recently I got two charges for "amazon mx". I was concerened and called amazon to make sure these were legitimate charges. Amazon said they are legitimate but cannot provide a receipt or anything in transaction view. If the minor charges are what is your monthly due for professional selling why do I not see any charges that add to the total of $39.99 a month? Why am I paying amazon Mexico? The better alternative would be for Amazon to take my money and disperse it themselves. Why is it now my reasonability to pay by cc for amazon Mexico? Did this just start recently?

Canada us and mexico are part of the north american unified account and the $39.99 usd + tax/month is split across the 3 martketplaces.

If you sell in the US marketplace the fee is being taken out of your disbursements.

If you don't sell in mexico and have nothing to disburse, they run your card.

The $39.99 monthly fee is the Professional-Level Amazon Seller account.

This level has many advantages over the standard Seller account.

The way to think about it is this: IF you have at least 40 sales per month, it is financially advantageous to remain at the Pro level.

If you do NOT regularly have at least 40 sales per month, it would be cheaper to downgrade.

But IF you regularly have less than 40 sales per month, you may want to reconsider your business model.

Good Luck!

Just remove your card. I know sellers that have been receiving a notice about not having a valid credit card for years.

As pointed out, the total amount is about $39.99 (varies slightly due to exchange rates). The amount will be split among (possibly) Mexico, Canada, and US, with it being taken from your balance in any market in which you sell, and charged to a CC if you don't have a balance for that account. So regardless of the total being right, it's a bookkeeping nightmare, of which many people have complained.

To solve it, place your .mx account (and .ca if you don't sell there either) on vacation. Then from your Seller Central page, select Mexico from the marketplace dropdown next to your user name. Then go to "Manage All Inventory", and after making sure that you are in the Mexico account, fully delete all listings for any inventory showing. Repeat for Canada if needed.

Sadly, Amazon has been making it a normal thing for them to do of simply deciding to list one of your items on a different marketplace, regardless of your settings. So you may need to repeat this procedure on a regular basis.

Hi @CKJ2_SUPPLY.

Thanks for the post. Nice to see fellow sellers jump in and provide you with nuggets of advice.

If your accounts are merged, then you will pay a discounted subscription fee. Your monthly fee will be the lower of: (1) the sum of the subscription fees for each country in which you have active listings or (2) the equivalent of $39.99 USD per month. The amounts billed may vary based on exchange rates.

Including a quick read on Monthly subscription fee, it contains information on how the costs are broken down, along with some additional FAQ's around the monthly subscription fee and a link to downgrade to Individual account.

Best regards,

Rose_Amazon

I submitted another case, and this time got a real answer. Looks like there is a New "Improved" page for handling this, that I'd never seen before, and was able to find only with the link.

For others having this issue, here is the response I got from Amazon:

Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,

I'm happy to help you with your request to remove the connection between your source and target store.

To remove connection and to stop synchronization, follow these steps:

Note: You must individually remove connections for each target store, one at a time.

1. Go to the Build International Listings (BIL) tool.

2. From the list, navigate to the left-hand side of the page and select the target store you want to disconnect.

3. After selecting the target store, navigate to the right-hand side of the page and click "Remove Connection" link at the bottom of the "Connection settings" widget.

4. From the pop-up window, choose to keep or delete your offers in the target store after the connection has been removed.

- If you choose to keep offers in the target store, they will remain in the store but their prices will not be synchronized with offers in the source store. You must maintain these offers manually.

- If you choose to delete offers from the target store, only offers connected with the source store will be deleted. All other offers will remain. It can take up to four hours before the offers are deleted from the target store. You cannot undo this action.

5. Click "Remove Connection" to confirm your choice and remove the connection.

6. Repeat "Steps 1-5" if there are additional target stores that require removal of Build International Listings connections.

To learn more, go to "Remove a connection using Build International Listings":
