High Pricing Error

I have a RENEWED item that I normally sell for $369, and NEW goes for over $500. I have had 250 orders in the last 30 days. Just yesterday, this ASIN was flagged for "HIGH PRICING ERROR" and the new allowable price is so low we would lose money on every sale. Can someone help me please escalate this case? I believe this is a mistake. Thank you.

Amazon knows more about how to price your items than you do.

(I am being sarcastic. It is insane that they think they do. Often they find another similar item on the web but do not account for shipping costs, or currency conversion. It is a dumb system)

We get them all the time, usually its some idiot that created the original listing marking the suggested retail price a penny or some crazy low price that they are selling theirs for. The Bots pick it up and say our price is too high. We sell books so we just close the listing and sell it on an alternate site. Its very frustrating, the market will set the price anyway, if your trying to sell something for $50 and its only worth $10 then it will never sell until you come down to a reasonable price the market is willing to pay. We don't need Amazon to do it for us.

And this is exactly Amazon's intention.

Hi there @Seller_SlWB0EOdRzvPk,

I've reviewed your case and the team is currently attempting to appeal your price with the correct team. If the team doesn't reply in the next week or the case is closed without resolution let me know here and I can see what escalation options I can offer. Thank you for your understanding.

Thousands of sellers' experience that every day. Just today I went through 110 with the same problem. The problem stems from Amazon's attempts to create a 0NE-SIZE-FITS-ALL algorithm to control pricing on the site.

It is a sure bet that Amazon own products are exempt from that algorithm, or they would be losing money just like you and thousands of other sellers.

If you actually get a Rep on these threads to over-ride the pricing problem, let us know which one it is, there are thousands of other sellers who would like to know.

Our major issue is this. We only sell new, and when we are the only seller, the bots claim our standard price is too high because the Bot compares us to the USED offering price.

It is quite evident that the programmers are not sellers. They get paid to simply do a job to serve the company, with no consideration what is does to the actual sellers using the site. Keeping this in mind, maybe the programmers are a lot closer to DAY TWO of their employment.
