Seperate a variation into independent listing

Hi,

I have a variation that need to be separated from a parent listing. This listing is the only child of a parent listing. What is the best way to do this?

I know that we can delete the parent listing on Manage Inventory, and the child listing will be separated. Does this method still work nowadays? Will it create problem with the child listing in the back end.

Thanks.

Typically, when it comes to variations, I recommend checking out our variation: FAQ help page, this actually has a section on how to manually do this.

If you have already attempted this process, I would recommend creating a case if you have not with our seller support teams to inquire about your issues as this will help create visibility with the appropriate teams. Here's a section from this help page:

How do I separate child ASINs into individual ASINs?

  • Delete the child item (removes its relationship to the parent). You may need to wait 24 hours before you can re-use your SKU.
  • Re-add the SKU but do not include fill in any of the Variation fields.
  • Validate and upload the completed inventory template.

Additionally, if you are still in need of support beyond this, I would recommend providing your case ID where you attempted to resolve the situation so we can look further into your situation.

I am also passing your concerns to our community managers who will review your situation, and if they're able they may follow up to offer additional guidance.

The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.
