Completing a refund

Hi everyone,

Hoping for a quick bit of advice.

I've not had a return before... I received a message saying a buyer was returning an item as it was a gift and the person they were buying it for had passed away. Absolutely fine and sent a message to buyer saying I was sorry to hear this.

I received an email from amazon saying they had initiated the refund and my seller account would be adjusted accordingly. And I received the item safely back from the customer a few days later. All good.

So, I go into 'Manage Returns' to mark the return as complete. I am supposed to choose a reason for marking the return as complete for a drop down menu... but none of the options seem to apply...

The choices are - 1. Partial refund issued 2. Item not returned 3. Return request cancelled and 4. Duplicate return request.

None of these are relevent... I just want to mark it as complete because amazon intiated the refund and I received the item back... everyone happy I think.

Am I missing something? What reason for completing the return am I supposed to choose in order to mark it as complete?

Many thanks for any words of wisdom folks! :)

They normally drop off once the refund is complete, has it definitely been refunded? the other option is the return hasnt tracked back as received by you

it should show as having been refunded within both Manage Returns and in the order as well in Manage Orders.

As for marking as complete, we personally just ignore returns. Eventually it’ll drop off and it sounds like there is nothing you need to do anyway.

I normally just select "partial refund" even when the whole amount has been refunded. This is something the highly paid techies failed to check

Hello @Seller_llhSMoRjZAAHH,

Here Simon from Amazon.

Thanks for posting on the Forum and thanks to all the other Seller participating to the conversation for the useful insights.

Normally when a refund is complete and you received the item, no further action is needed from your side.
