Product Classifier vs Browse Tree Guide

Some item-type keywords are shown in the Browse Tree Guide but not in the Product Classifier.

For example, in the industrial browse tree guide, there is a potentiometer keyword under Industrial & Scientific/Industrial Electrical/Passive Components/Resistors/Variable Resistors/Potentiometers, however, this is not available when using the Product Classifier.

If we intend to upload products via the API, should we avoid item-type keywords that are not in the Product Classifier?

Thank you

Hi @Phidgets_Inc,

Thanks for the post. Amazon uses values provided by sellers to determine where listings appear in the Amazon catalog. If this information is missing or incorrect, customers will have a difficult time finding, comparing, and purchasing your products.

Browse Tree Guides (BTG) are category-specific documents that provide the unique numbers you use to create links within your storefront. The Product Classifier tool replaces the BTG. I would recommend using the Product Classifier to browse and search for the classifications in your catalog.

Best regards,
