Another brand with the same trademark name on our reports...any idea how to stop this?

These are entirely different products and selling categories. Thankfully, their brand with the identical trademarked name as ours, are fantastic products with mostly 5 star reviews. However, this makes reviewing our products on Amazon with our 3 allowed sellers difficult because I keep being given a list of unrelated product sales, sellers, and reviews.

My other concern is since we are brand registered with UPCs and the other brand I don't believe has brand registry or representation on Amazon - what happens if they do try to register with the same trademarked name? I have seen countless forum posts where they start hitting walls when another brand with the same name becomes registered on here and they have to eliminate one.

I have opened up multiple cases with brand registry who cannot see my SC account (that is an entirely different issue) and SS cases tell me to report it to brand registry. I really am not looking to report and remove listings, only remove their products from our brand reports.

When I research their UPCs we are both registered on GS1 through the manufacturing companies (and both have the same name in them).

Technically, they aren't doing anything wrong as it is clearly another product of the same name. I don't feel that reporting it as a fraud listing on brand registry is appropriate. It isn't fraud, we just share the same trademark name. This is possible as trademarks of entirely different products can be issued with the same names (and these are both registered in different countries). But this has become a headache as far as brand management goes.

Does anyone know a way to fix this issue without reporting all of their listings as fraud?

Hello @Seller_iobipI6xASRkh

My name is Sandy from the Community Manager team here on forums.

There are many sellers here that register with the same brand name as long as the product and trademark is different. If there are issues with different products showing up in your storefront, this is something you will need to contact Ads support team to fix.

You are correct that this is not a case to report fraud or infringement unless they are infringing on your IP.

If you have send cases to seller support on this topic, would you please let me know the case ID so I can investigate further? Thank you.

Hello @Seller_iobipI6xASRkh

This is Sandy back with some updates on your sync correction.

The appropriate team I escalated to has reached out and mentioned they have updated the sync in the system. It could take roughly 7-10 business days for changes to be reflected.

If you do not notice any changes after 10 business days, please let me know. Thank you.

Trademarks are in 45 categories of goods and services, so it is indeed possible to have the same brand name in different categories. Amazon though has a problem understanding this. I took down a product as we ran out of a part and when I went to relist it, Amazon said it was a trademark violation. Turns out a sunglass business got into brand registry and used the same name, "Blue Planet" while we made and sold an auto security glass etching product. I had to get my product name registered along with the company name, "Blue Planet SecureVIN" in order to list the product again and get into brand registry.
