Price alerts & seller support replies

I put time into my messages to help Amazon understand about price alert notices which are often nonsensical because no other offerings are listed or because it is Currently unavailable or other listings are above my asked for price or other reasons which I explain in my message via "Help" The replies I receive are often nonsensical i.e. - "To contact us again about this issue, please use the Contact Us form ..." or "I'm sorry for making you take an additional step regarding this issue,..."

It is clear to me that no human ever read my original message. They plugged into AI which spit out an answer that is a non-answer.

I take my time writing my original posting and my message to include all pertinent information and I am insulted by these stock replies which lack any human thought.

The best you can do since their AI is dumb as a box of rocks is to put in min/max prices and hope it fixes the problem.

Use a low end that will make you money and a high end out a lot to cover future price increases for a few years.

Think something like 9.99 -- 39.99

I feel your pain. I take time to write incredibly carefully, using small words and simple sentences. I go back and forth over the message before I send it to make sure my train of thought is sensible to the reader. I try to put to put myself in a reader's perspective. I add screenshots and number the screenshots to show my workflow and/or images of the issue/s. Sometimes I have my wife (who was a writer for over 20 years) read my message. Just to make sure I am speaking clearly.

The responses I get back indicate that obviously the Amazon support person or AI does not have the foggiest f#$&1ng idea what I am talking about. I might as well be talking to a monkey.

As for your issue. Like others have stated you can try to low price / high price boxes. Good luck with that.

One way I have found that sometimes works is this.. I slowly edge the price up over time. Yes, this is a real pain. Often I just give up and create a new listing. Amazon does not ever make things easy. Amazon has AS bots (Artificial Stupidity) bots running wild leaving a trail of broken frantic sellers clutching our alcoholic drinks and bottles of sedatives.

The same stupidity goes on! I do not know why they are called Amazon Selling Partner Support - it is obvious no one read my appeal on pricing by pointing out that the notice that it was overpriced missed noticing it was a new hardcover and they had marked it overpriced by comparing it to a paperback price. I pointed that out in my appeal to seller support- I was just referred to re-reading pricing information and not allowed to change price. I feel they are stealing my book!
