Opening a Second Seller Account for a Different Product Line
Hi everyone,
I’m a US-based Amazon seller operating under an LLC. My current Seller Central account is exclusively focused on reselling Nike products.
However, I’m now looking to expand into a completely separate line of products unrelated to the actual ones, which would require a different sourcing strategy, performance tracking, and inventory management.
I understand Amazon’s policy regarding multiple accounts and that you must have a legitimate business reason to operate more than one. I would like to open a second seller account that would operate under the same legal entity, business address, and contact information, but it would be used only for selling non-Nike products.
Once I finish selling through the remaining Nike inventory, I plan to fully close the original account and continue operating only the new one.
I’ve emailed selling-partner-account-application@amazon.com with this request and justification, but I haven’t received a response yet.
Has anyone here gone through a similar process and received approval under similar conditions?
Any insights on what to expect, or how long it might take to hear back?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

The restriction is by product line so if you plan on selling anything remotely related to shoes and accessories it will be a conflict and RELATED.
Consider yourself lucky that you have not been one of the accounts suspended for selling anything to do with Nike...

Hi @Seller_lepwsU0N9CUQ8
Per Amazon's Seller Code of Conduct and Multiple Accounts policy, you may only maintain one Seller Central account for each region in which you sell unless you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing. If any of your accounts are not in good standing, we may deactivate all of your selling accounts until all accounts are in good standing.
Examples of a legitimate business justification include:
- You own multiple brands and maintain separate businesses for each
- You manufacture products for two distinct and separate companies
- You are recruited for an Amazon program that requires separate accounts
Please let me know if you have any questions,
Connor
