Why do i need to use a credit card as a deposit method for FBA
1. How will the money be transferred to my credit card
2. Am I meant to make some kind of payments with the credit card
3. For what reasons can I not use a debit card instead (I'm aware you can use a debit card but not all of them will work, I'm asking to know what reasons are behind not being able to use certain cards)

The credit card is not for a deposit method, it's a verification step to list/sell on Amazon.

Amazon will charge your valid credit card for any fees that exceed your sales.
Credit cards are a much more reliable way for Amazon to collect what is owed than debit cards.

It won't. Money will be transferred to your bank account on file. This may or may not be the same bank as your CC.
Normally? No. As a backup in case your sales revenue does not cover costs? Yes.
Two good explanations. First of all, a true CC is a more reliable method for Amazon to be sure of getting money from you if your sales do not cover expenses.
As a second reason, requiring you to have a CC is a quick and easy way for Amazon to verify that, at least to someone, you have valid credit. Easier than running credit checks on everyone.

Hi @Seller_wKLqJdeAT0IFH,
Steve from Amazon here, thank you for the questions. There are two main methods that must be active in order to have full access to to list items. A bank account as a deposit method, this is used to receive payments from Amazon, and a Credit Card which is the charge method used to pay fees and other charges that may occur.
It is important to check the below information related to your credit card.
- Is the credit card valid?
- Is there a minimum charge amount?
- Are you using a pre-paid card? (Note: Use of a pre-paid card is not accepted for a selling account.)
- Does the bank have a record of the charge attempt?
- Are there bank limits or policies that prevent the charge attempt from being authorized?
- Is there any incorrect credit card information entered? (Note: All the credit card information entered such as number, name, address, ZIP code, or expiration date must be an exact match with your card details.)
- Is this chargeable in the currency of the Amazon marketplace where you registered your seller account?
Please let me know if there are any other questions.
Thanks,
Steve
