FBA order with expedited shipping, shipped 6 days late

Can someone explain all of the possible reasons why an FBA order with expedited shipping ends up shipping 6 days late? This seems excessively late and i can only expect to have a return as a result.

Probably because the item wasn't at an FC close to the buyer. With FBA your items can be purchased even when they are in transit between Amazon warehouses. They do show the buyer a delivery window. If it arrives late (per the buyer) and they complain, send them to Amazon to complain. They should take the hit, not you.
