Sell old books

so I used to sell old books, art books and textbooks…just my personally owned books. Does Amazon no longer allow this? How can I get approved to sell ONE book when they’re asking me for an invoice showing I purchased at least 10???

It is highly unlikely you will be able to sell textbooks unless they are so old they are worthless.

If you reach the demand for invoices, just don't sell that book on Amazon. There are other venues.

Home---Amazon has become far less of a friendly site or selling partner to used books sellers in the past decade. In fact some believe that Amazon wants used Book Sellers to go away. Can you believe the category (Used books) and the wonderful book sellers that made Amazon successful in the first place, have little value to the Lawyers and their bots that run Amazon now? The world has changed and so has Amazon---maybe not for the better.

My suggestion---List what you can on Amazon and go to other venues for the rest---the same as bookwormapril's recommendation.

Good Luck!

Good Morning @Seller_8dlbim1xd4lnR,

It looks like you were able to receive some guidance from a few of our seasoned sellers on the forums regarding selling books on Amazon.

If any of their response helped you, feel free to mark it as “Most Helpful reply” using the 3 dots in the corner of their post. Just in case others have the same issue, the Most Helpful Reply feature brings the selected response right to the top of your thread. Sellers will be able to see the answer right away as your discussion will have a green checkmark when searched within the forums.

The books category is very popular. I am not sure what types of books you are trying to list (if they are the ones you mentioned in your original post or something else), but textbooks sellers have seen an increase in requests for approval to sell certain books based on what I have seen around the forums.

I recommend continuing to monitor the 'Products That Require Approval' and 'Overview of Categories' help pages for any updates to approvals to sell certain products, brands, categories, and sub-categories.

While Amazon's catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations on which products should be restricted, which is based on a number of factors. Amazon does this to ensure authenticity and customer satisfaction.

Lastly, I wanted to share that you can check out more about book selling from my colleague, @Glenn_Amazon's post titled, 'Listings Lounge: The Book Seller’s Best Practices.'

If you have filed a CASE ID with Selling Partner Support regarding this situation, I'd be happy to investigate it and see what next steps can be taken. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon. Have a good weekend.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

I also have been trying to list my used books from my personal library. I am not able to list 75% of the books that I have. Never ran into this before but it's obvious that my seller days on here are about over after ten years. My books are generally 1900-1960.
