EIN and Resale permit in california
I am a new seller located to California and I want to start selling on amazon I have a few questions if I can please get them answered:
- Do I need a EIN and a Resales permit starting off ?
- Do I need a LLC to start off selling?
- How long can I sell without a EIN, Resales permit, or LLC?
- can I just sell only if I have a brand?
I currently just own the name of my brand, I have nothing else to my name legally and I am very confused on all the legal things I need to have done, any answer to the questions will help thank you for your time.

Are you going to sell items that YOU make or are you going to buy things to sell?

I would suggest that whatever you decide you need, get it first. You'll certainly need a Resale permit/business licence/whatever it's called in CA (this is required for sales tax, even though Amazon handles the actual funds for you), but beyond that, everything else will depend on your situation. But changing things later will be MUCH more trouble than getting it all up-front.
If you have any employees, you'll need the EIN; but you can also get one even if you have no employees.
