Not allowing sellers to add their own items to the cart is one of the very few times where Amazon actually prevents sellers from violating policy.
If you have another buying account and succeed in doing that, it will probably lead to suspension.
Not all pages have a buy-box.

You REALLY need to study Seller U and in articular do a search for "Sales manipulation and competitor abuse" where it specifically says that buying your own product can/will result in your suspension.

As for not getting the BB, I would guess that since you are attempting to purchase your own product, you are too new to have any sort of track record built up. Amazon doesn't yet know if you are a reliable seller. It's not just about the price (although if you are priced higher than similar items on Amazon OR ELSEWHERE, you are less likely to get the BB)
