A different variation showing for the main search term
Hello everyone,
I have a Parent ASIN accompanied by 5 Child ASINs. Among these, one of my Child ASINs exhibits a very good conversion rate and click-through rate for the primary search term. However, despite its superior performance, another variation that experiences lower sales is being displayed for the main keyword. Can anyone advise on how to address this issue? It's worth noting that both products are priced equally, and the one currently showcased by Amazon has fewer reviews compared to the one I prefer to be displayed.
Furthermore, upon reviewing Amazon Brand Analytics, it indicates that over the course of a week, approximately 300 clicks were attributed to this ASIN. However, I find it perplexing, considering that this ASIN isn't organically ranked for the corresponding search term, as another variation is currently featured at the top. Moreover, the clicks don't seem to originate from PPC, as the PPC data suggests only 11 clicks over the same timeframe.Note: Only one out of the five variations has been ranked for this search term since they are added as variations.

The only thing I know of that will help is to advertise the one you want displayed specifically for those keywords. The algorithm that decides which variation to show is completely automated as far as I know. Eventually it should switch if one of the variations is doing much better and advertising should help speed up the process.

I understand that you're facing some trouble. I'm sorry about that.
However, it's important to note that sellers don't have control over what appears in Amazon search results. While Amazon claims that everything is automated and based on algorithms, I have reason to believe that this might not be entirely true. I've noticed issues similar to what you pointed out with several of my variations.
Additionally, Amazon recently acquired a brand in my category, which has resulted in their product always appearing at the top of search results, regardless of relevance. Even if someone goes directly to my product page, most of the related products displayed are from this new Amazon brand.

I had similar issue before. The top-seller wasn't show up for a certain keyword, which is obviously the top keyword for the top-seller variation among the variation family. I opened cases, seller support couldn't understand the problem at all.
I believe there were some Amazon system bugs. I asked seller support to "refresh" my top-seller ASIN, and the problem solved after a couple of days. Hope it helps.
