Why is it so difficult to gate our own Private Label brand?
Hi Amazon and Sellers,
Not sure if i'm missing something here because Amazon is such a huge successful marketplace, but is there any reasoning or logic behind Amazon encouraging sellers to enroll in brand registry, trade mark their brands and build private label businesses but then make it extremely difficult to gate or protect these private label brands?
Currently there is an unauthorized seller on one of my Asins, I've sent them a cease and decist. I've also notified brand registry who keep sending me automated responses requesting I use a report a violation link which is a clunky process in itself requiring me to purchase the counterfeit product.
Currently this seller doesn't ship internationally so I am unable to purchase the counterfeit product to verify it's authenticity, however as this is my brand and I'm the manufacturer and this seller is not approved to sell our products it is easy to conclude the product is a counterfeit. On top of this, a browse of the unauthorised seller storefront shows numerous negative reviews for counterfeit products, fakes and item's just not being received.
I am aware the transparency program is an option, however due to the sheer volume of units I sell, thousands a month our supplier has advised it would be impractical to apply a unique transparency label in addition to a FNSKU label for amazon adding significant amounts of time and labour and costs to our manufacturing process.
The Amazon Project Zero has too many pre-requisites, including the transparency program which isn't practical for us for the above reasons.
I've asked Amaon to gate our Asin however the keep suggesting the transparency program and reporting the unauthorized seller which I'm unable to do so.
Which leads me back to my original question, Why can't I as a brand registered seller gate my brand and products? Am I missing something here?
Sorry fo the long post, Just needing a way to get an unathorized seller off my listing if I can't purchase their product (Currently don't know any other way besides reporting the violation)
And 2 Hopefully some assistance or esclation with gating my brand or products to be able to actually be able to protect my brand.
Brand support have been of 0 assistance and sent the same generic automated response 3 times.

We ran into this. We manage 4 brands and Amazon will not gate them. I have been told verbatim from Amazon that they will not manage the sellers on a brand unless there is a specific need to.
