Amazon Fees with FBA too high, Impossoble to continue

I am not sure if anyone of you facing this problem or not but it seems either the fees are high or I am not doing things correctly. Right now, I am selling in two categories Clothing and Handbags. Just to give you an idea If I am selling a clutch bag for Rs. 249 with FBA, Amazon charges 138, which is more than 60%. That’s the highest price I can go for this quality product. Similarly, in Women Kurtis, when I sell a product for Rs. 649, Amazon charges 230 plus. Just like the Clutch, it’s the highest price I can ask for such kurtis. Even after selling at the highest price, I am losing money on every sale considering the product cost(price+shoot+shipment) to me.

Anyone of you facing a similar problem. Just share your experience. I see people selling products at Rs.99 sometime and even I did it, It was complete negative, I ended up paying amazon for every sale. How they do that. Just looking for some insights to either withdraw or do something else. Thanks

Exactly the fee are so much high that’s why we are unable to compete with top sellers like cloudtail & many more sellers liike him .Don’t know how they are selling some product at a cost of 99 rs or lower than that.

Exactly i am a distributor of some branded products. I buy directly from Company. even them i am unable to match the lowest price. Does amazon have any Extra discounts as you increase your sales ?? If that is not the case and i strongly believe Duplicate Goods are being sold.

Just look at this product https://www.amazon.in/gp/offer-listing/B0764M9QVS/ how he is selling in 348 rs its a market offer price. After deducting all fee he will get 191 rs After deducting fba fee so what is the profit what is the cost price. Its clearly shows there is something is going on between them.

  1. Firstly,Fulfill it yourself and you will save huge.
  2. Secondly, keep a portion of your total purchase to sell at a cheaper price or say break even and sell the rest at a higher price. The first one will help you rank higher and the second will get you profits.
  3. Most of the sellers who sell at crazily low prices are manufactures and do not have good listings in terms of pictures and content, their USP is their price.Since you can not do that make quality your USP and make strong and impactful lisitng.Trust me people won’t mind paying you higher.
  4. Make your design unique and ensure you are not selling the same item as others.(style, color etc)
5)Contact customer for reviews even if you sell one pcs.
  5. Keep looking for keywords that are most searched for by customers.

Hope it will help.

I suppose 90% sellers are doing business at loss in the hope of reviving fortunes. And on top of all this, the stupid return window of 30 days. A buyer returned the product after 15 days with defect reason. Come on, how can you ignore a defect in a small clutch after 15 days of usage. VAT, GST, and on and on. Hope seller either stop selling products at a loss or leave the platform.
