Amazon stole all my money after being a top seller since 2013

I began selling on Amazon in 2013 and have processed over 300,000 orders with a 100% feedback rating. I have always been meticulous, ensuring that every aspect of my business was executed flawlessly. Over the course of five years, I averaged $3 million in sales annually. However, a few years ago, my mother received a diagnosis of Metastatic Breast Cancer. I made the decision to put everything aside to be by her side every day for an entire year until her passing. Losing my mother was incredibly difficult, and it made returning to the relentless grind of Amazon very challenging.

In the following months, I resumed selling, and things were going well until one day, my payment was not disbursed. A few days later, my account was deactivated without any explanation. I later learned that one of my ASINs had received an authenticity complaint for a product I have sold for 12 years without one complaint. Despite providing numerous invoices, I received a standard reply saying they could not verify them. For three months, my funds were held in reserve, and the credit cards I used to finance my business were shut down due to lack of payment. I had relied on Amazon for my livelihood, and after not working for for a few years to care for my mother, my savings were quickly depleted. I started borrowing money just to pay bills, assuring everyone I'd pay them back as I expected to receive $40,000 from Amazon.

Last week, I was devastated to receive an email stating they were permanently withholding my funds. The impact of this news was unbearable. During the past three months, I discovered that one of my five dogs had bone cancer, and I was urgently trying to secure funds for his treatment. When informed that Amazon was keeping my money, I faced the heartbreaking reality that I have no other option than to put him down. Just two days ago, my electricity was cut off, and I’ve gone without food for nearly three full days because my dogs needs will always come first.

Words cannot express my deep depression. I have sold nearly all my belongings to get by, yet I now have nothing left to sell and feel utterly depleted. I will be evicted the first week of next month. Not only have I lost my income, but my entire investment is gone, with $40,000 withheld and approximately another $50,000 lost in inventory. The enormity of how this has devastated my life is indescribable. I am overwhelmed with bills, I owe money to others, and I find myself unemployed once again while facing losing my home. I’ve never experienced such profound depression in my life. The complete upheaval of my world over a single frivolous authenticity complaint—despite my history of hundreds of thousands of orders with perfect feedback has completely shattered me. My dogs keep me going, but they can sense my despair. The unanticipated deactivation of my account has had a life-altering effect, and the loss of my $40,000 and another 50,000 in inventory has left me feeling irreparably broken. Amazon cost me my livelihood, and might just cost me my life.

Do you have a link to the law that says Amazon can't release funds to a seller when an IP complaint is withdrawn?

The most unfortunate thing about selling on Amazon is that Amazon doesn't care at all about our personal lives. The world could be ending and they would still expect us to follow their rules and ship out our packages on time.

My guess is that during the time you were away dealing with your personal life, the rules at Amazon changed, or became way more enforced. Any time you take a break away from any seller portal, you need to go through the news section as well as the forums section of every seller portal/venue you sell through before you reactivate/take your account of vacation mode or anything like that. Amazon policies change almost weekly anymore. I am so so sorry this has happened to you. It sounds like you have been through far more hurt than any person should ever have to go through. I am going to reiterate what @Seller_kIukTwdhvntApstated. If you are feeling desperate and hopeless, please contact a suicide prevention hotline. Amazon is not worth losing your life over.

Also, as someone else stated, if you are in fact selling authentic Herbalife products, I would try contacting the brand to see if you can get a letter of authorization. It may be a long shot but it might work out.

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about your mother. Your story really hit home with me, I know your pain. While others may disagree with your decision to push everything else aside to be by your mother's side, I completely understand your decision. That tells me how much you loved her! Besides, jobs can easily be replaced but you'll only ever have one mother.

Though I strongly suggest that you fight those bad thoughts inside your head. Say a little prayer, buckle up your boots, and put your feet on another path in this life. You can build anything you choose with a little hard work and determination, just like you've done before. Look at it as a true blessing that you will no longer have to endure all the completely unnecessary stress that selling on this platform entails.

Take care of yourself, good luck, and remember that everyday that you live your mother will also live through you......God Bless....

Very sorry when a family member including a pet passes, time is the only healer sometimes.

Perhaps this is the issue?

"Can I sell Herbalife products on Amazon"

No, you cannot sell Herbalife products on Amazon according to Herbalife company policy; they strictly prohibit distributors from selling their products on online marketplaces like Amazon, as they want sales to be conducted directly through their network of authorized distributors only.

It may not be the time, but soon you must wake up and decide to get back into it and do it even bigger and better. You have it in you, you've done it for all those years. Yes, Amazon recently began enforcing manufacturer policies and yes, Herbalife may have reached out to Amazon to clear the way for "authorized" sellers only. You may have been dropped by Herbalife due to the 2 year hiatus. Try reaching back out to Herbalife to re-authorize yourself again. Good Luck!

Get a lawyer, but in this case, don't go after Amazon because some of their policies protect them and they are just the messenger, go after Herbalife, because they submitted a counterfeit claim with no proof that the products are counterfeits, which has led to you losing a whole lot more than just simple money, but your livelihood, this is easy cash out with a good lawyer.

Get a lawyer to draft a letter and send it to both email and address, seeking recuperation of damages done to both your business and life, I bet if your lawyer is good, you could get up to a million USD payout with what you just explained, as long as the products were bought from verifiable sources and you have invoices, even if you don't have invoices, let them come to court and proof it is fake, I hear a lot of these cases every day, the companies always opt to settle outside court.

Man up and play this last card, such is life. It is never fair, so don't play fair

N/B: THERE IS SOMETHING YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND, IF WHAT THEY SUBMITTED WAS COUNTERFEIT NO TEST BUY, EASY PEASY!!!

DO NOT GIVE UP!!! WITH WHAT YOU JUST EXPLAINED ABOVE ANY LAWYER WOULD KNOW YOU HAVE A CASE, AND THEY MIGHT EVEN TAKE IT FOR FREE AND ASK FOR A HIGHER PAYOUTS TO GET THEIR PAY

I FEEL YOUR PAIN 100%

I don't know if you are still reading these, but my advice would be to stop banging your head against the wall that is Amazon as your full-time job. You may, in all honesty, never get anywhere, and in the meantime you are falling further and further behind. Find some (any) sort of employment and try to retrieve your funds from Amazon and get yourself reinstated during whatever free time you have left after working your day-job. (I would also add to all the others who advise you to dial 988 as soon as you can.)

If you've been selling here since 2013, why are you surprised that Amazon is taking your money? How is this news to you? There is no leinecy with Amazon. There is not forgiveness. There is no understanding. There is simply compliance or non-compliance. Even if you are complaint, with how long you've been selling, you should KNOW that "the house" always wins. Amazon doesn't care. Even when you play by their rules they will still find a way to take your money and make it your fault. There is no fair.

Same story here, but $100+K was retained by Amazon. Severe depression and financial devastation. 9 years / $35 million. Mother also had breast cancer, but has it beat. The Seller Assurance program team had no mercy. I wish you all the best.
