How do I report a high price error?
I've seen a lot of discussion about Amazon's way of checking for "high pricing error" for out-of-print, collectibles.
I've never seen any resolution that is actually useful.
I have a Like New edition of a book of which Amazon has only one seller, who is listing it for $182. The book is a rare collectible. I went to Bookfinder, and it conflates the book with the cards, but even there, looking at all the vendors, I see no low prices for the book, only the cards.
There are many editions of the cards available, some selling for under $20. The cards come with a booklet, but it is not the same as the book.
To add to the confusion, Amazon has some sellers books listed with a B**** item number, and some books with an ISBN item number.
Plus, when I go to look at the other editions Amazon has for this book, depending on where the link is, I get different results. The most frequent page that comes up has one seller selling the book for $182.22.
On the Inventory Management page, under the Pricing column, there is a link to View More. When I click on that, it pulls up yet another edition, which says the book is unavailable.
So there are at least three listings for the book, and additional listings for the cards.
None of which should make my price of $28 a "high pricing error!" for a rare, valuable collectible book.
This is ridiculous. I've been reading other posts on this forum, to see if someone else received an answer, and I see stories like this going back months, with no suggestion about how to report an obvious error to Amazon, so they can fix it.

Unfortunately, there is no way to report a high pricing error. Amazon flags these listings as a "high pricing error" if their data shows that the price is too high to be on Amazon. They take this data by comparing the pricing history of the ASIN and they scrape the internet for anyone that is priced lower.
This is Amazon's attempt at trying to be a website where only the lowest prices are found.

don't waste your time. There are hundreds of thousands of listings out there with TRULY outrageous prices and they do just fine. Meanwhile booksellers have their collectible books taken down and others have listings blocked over $2........ I am so eating popcorn watching this mess go down.....

You can spend dozens of hours doing research to prove the bot was completely wrong and then contact "Seller Support", as I have done many times over the last 10 years. Of course you will find that absolutely no one will help you and you will be run around in circles by clueless support entities including bots, as was the result of all my wasted hours. I now wait a few months to check again (sometimes these disappear as mysteriously and randomly as they arrive) or better, list on a site that actually wants quality booksellers.

You contact ebay and list item there Amazon refused to listen or address this issue we have over 150 listings taken down doe to this issue and slowly changing to sell elsewhere.

amazon has been in complete decline since they added high pricing errors, and messing with buybox over the price being "too high" in my opinion.

I would not list a collectible book on Amazon. I do well with hard to find items on the Bay. Buyers there want lots of pictures and detailed description. More effort than Amazon, but worth the effort with a truly collectible item.

Did you list it as "Used - Like New" or "Collectible - Like New?" I typically find that Collectible condition items are not as often flagged as high pricing errors. You shouldn't have any issues placing it under that designation based on your description of the item.

Hi @Seller_lyztNmXC2vTOc, while I unfortunately can't speak too much on pricing, this help page does contain some information on resolving potential high price errors.

What I LOVE is the notice actually says "POTENTIAL" high pricing error. If it is only a potential one... then you should be able to supply proof that it is NOT a high price, but we can't!!
