Counterfeit Sellers Located in China...HELP!!!

Hi everyone,

I run three different brands on Amazon with three different seller accounts. I watch the seller forums closely. All of my brands are enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry. Lately, across all three businesses, I have been having issues with counterfeit sellers listing inventory for sale using my listing and undercutting my price so that they get the featured offer.

Pretty much all of my sales go away, the customer gets a counterfeit item, and then I inevitably get a bad review from the customer who thought they bought my product but actually received a fake, counterfeit item. I can see these sellers are always located in China.

Other than purchasing the item, waiting a month for it to come, and then reporting a violation for each individual seller for every ASIN they are undercutting me on...is there any way for Amazon to help with this? This is absolutely terrible for both Amazon and myself. If this is resolved, customers are going to stop trusting buying anything on Amazon.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm sorry to hear that you are facing these issues, but unfortunately, there is little you can do to prevent this from happening repeatedly. Amazon operates as an open market, allowing sellers from various locations to list their products. Amazon cannot determine whether these items are authentic or counterfeit until you, as the brand owner, report the violation.

The primary safeguard for your brand is your trademark or patent, which corporations use to protect their intellectual property. To address these challenges more efficiently, you can explore trademark protection solutions. These solutions can monitor your ASINs and automatically report violations on your behalf. Some of these services may require a fee, but they eliminate the need for manual reporting.

Here is one: redpoints

It's important to note that this issue is not unique to your business or brand; many US brand owners face similar challenges. We hope that future governments will implement more effective trade policies to address these concerns.

Good Luck

Good luck to you. There are hoards of people and factories there just waiting for a product that sells well to jump on it. Chinese piggyback riders and usurpers stealing something from you are painfully common. Amazon has done something about it from time to time but definitely not often enough.

Hey @Seller_UglmhRe9s4CPu, the folks over at the Manage Your Brand category of the Forums may be better equipped to answer your questions, but my understanding is that, unfortunately, part of the process in reporting this kind of violation is to conduct a test buy. You can find the Report a Violation help section in the Brand Registry portal here.

Hi @Blake_Amazon

Thanks for your response. For a few days, the Chinese counterfeit sellers were gone and my sales popped back up to normal, but within a few days, they were back. I have conducted new test buys. I will continue to report the violations. Currently, my trademark is pending, not registered, so I do have access to Brand Registry although I cannot report a violation with a test buy using counterfeit as the violation because that requires a registered trademark.

Instead, I am reporting the violations through Account Health. I should have my trademark registered in about a month. Is there any help for me between now and then?

Again, I appreciate your response.
