How to refund 75%?
After a problem sale, customer and I reached a resolution. She was quite reasonable, and we reached an amicable agreement on a 75% refund.
But I can't figure out how to do it. The refund page only goes up to 50% - plus 20 dollars. ( And this is a multi-hundred dollar sale, so 20 dollars is nowhere near 25% )
I want to give money to the customer. I figured that SS would at least be willing to do that. But they can't help.
I want to refund 75%, just like the customer agreed to. Not 100%; not 50%. Those seem to be the closest options that the refund page can handle.
@SEAmod Susan, can you help here? The case # is 14797041731. The order # is 111-3116917-0793055

BTW, does anyone - mod or seller - know WHY Amazon would cripple the refund page like this?
How does anyone benefit from limiting the ability to issue specific refunds?

The simplest way to withhold a large percentage of the order is to move the radio buttons farther right - Item, Accessories, and/or Packaging category set to Severe Damages, Missing, or Materially different. Once you do that, you can set a manual percentage under "Other".
Keep in mind that 20% restocking fee or larger requires photos and ALL restocking fee seems to require a note now.

I just did this. Go to orders and just do a partial refund there. Under Refunds. Pretty simple. You have to do the math to get the 75%.

You'd better do this refund by following these steps:
Click to the Menu: Orders-Upload order related files-adjustment-download templet-enter your 75% refund amount-upload the document-then OK

Gibberish is speech that is (or appears to be) nonsense: ranging across speech sounds that are not actual words, pseudowords, language games and specialized jargon that seems nonsensical to outsiders.

As @Seller_Fi9WPLaoxKs8a states, the best way to do it is to use the order adjustment flat file upload. That way you don't have any of these constraints Amazon puts on you through the regular interface.

Hi @Seller_keSnEDesLFVwv,
You've gotten lots of specific help from your fellow sellers already so I just wanted to add to that by providing the help page on issuing partial refunds.

Additionally, I wanted to provide some context to this point. Typically, our refund system follows our guidelines for restocking fees. So depending on the reason for return and restocking fee, the fee itself will automatically be calculated based on the guidelines linked here.
That being said, you can follow the steps for a partial refund to make adjustments to the restocking fee.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

If the customer did not request a return, you are only able to refund either 100% or up to 50% (plus the $20 misc. refund).
To do 75%, ask the customer to submit a return request, just don't actually return anything. You can then issue the 75% refund through the return's refund page by withholding a 25% "restocking fee" and refunding the 75%.
I agree, they really messed up the refund page by making it work like this, it used to be much easier years ago, but that's the only workaround way I've figured out for the way it's currently set up.
