Amazon violating its' own return policy
I just received a returned item 49 days after the purchase and 46 days after delivery. Amazon is expecting me to refund this customer. My store's return policy is the same as Amazon's, 30 days. This was a seller-fulfilled item. Amazon initially auto-authorized a return 25 days after purchase and then re-authorized another return 32 days after purchase (my return window shows 2 different authorizations for the same item). I was unable to submit a safe T claim because no refund has been issued. I opened a case and Amazon responded within minutes and said they expect me to refund the buyer and that I could charge a restocking fee. What is up with this? Does Amazon only honor it's own return policy when they sell an item and not when a third party sells an item?

There can only be one refund per order, so the fact that it's listed twice doesn't mean anything.
Have they returned the item? No return, no refund. You can only charge a re-stocking fee for returned items.
And yes, Amazon has been known to take returns well past 30 days. There have been many posts on here about it and other such policies they do not follow.

To be honest and if u buy or sell on Amazon..you should know this. As a customer, if you complain enough and call in ..Amazon will refund just about anyone for anything. You shouldn't be surprised

We had one last year where they allowed high dollar item that was purchased 10-4-2022 to be returned under holiday returns which did not start until 10-15-2022. Even worse they only returned items box it was for a $200 doll and soon as we called Safe-T out on their wrong policy and showed them actual dates they denied the claim and covered nothing. Items packaging was returned after 68 days So watch out when you call Amazon on their violations they closes cases and thats it. When empty box was returned we did 100% restocking with images and 99% of the time you do 100% restocking you need to watch Amazon almost always over turns it.

Oh they violate their own policy on a daily basis. Amazon doesn't care about you or any other seller. As long as it benefits them that's all they care about. Everything is automated and if a human gets involved its a person in india that doesn't know up from down. Horrible support.

As long as its not Amazon's money they will never care.

Hello @Seller_M1oyCrzSee79f. Thanks for checking in with us about Amazon's return policies.
I am working with our partner team to see if our posted guidelines can be made a little clearer, but I can share the following from our Returns, refunds, cancellations, and claims seller help page:
As a general rule: buyers have 30 days following the last day of the Estimated Delivery Date Range to file their return request. (Note: that's 30 days after the EDD and not receipt or purchase of the item.)
There is then a 15-day period after the above return window closes allowing for transit time for a buyer to return an item.
I wrote "as a general rule" because some product categories have different return policies, and there are extended return periods during the holiday season.
That makes 45 days after the end of the EDD range. Without checking the specific order, it looks like this return is around that timeframe.

Forget about their return policy.
I just dealt with an order from 7 months ago, the order is 2 pairs of shoes. The customer wants to return them because 'no longer needed'.
Yes yes, it is "out of policy", on the return panel you can see a red mark on the return request, that says that the request is not in policy, then I received a message from this order telling me to authorize it within 48 hours, it was sent from Amazon customer service.
Since this order is from 7 months ago I'm sure that nothing from this order will affect my important store metric, I just directly closed the return request out of curiosity, wanting to see what will happen.
And long story short, the result is an A-Z claim, granted, fully refunded, with a familiar bot reply.
Didn't feel surprised at all XD

we had one over 92 days, customer claims they never got it-after 92 days, we have pictures on the house door step-even sent a picture from google maps of matching brick house. The customer filed a claim on a sunday, we had no time to respond til monday but they sided with the customer.
So 92 days after delivery, customer finally states they never go it, we have pictures of the box on their door, they file claim 92 days after delivery with verifiable pictures of house and boxes on door and we loose?
Amazon is so bad right now. we have filed multiple repeals and nothing. we are out 1500
