I'm having trouble setting up my new Amazon account due to payment method issues in charge method. Despite trying multiple bank accounts and cards, none are accepted. Even after being charged $39 from my bank account, the problem persists. Can you please assist me in resolving this promptly.

Amazon has no problem to charge any card. But for identity verification reasons you have to put a CREDIT card as Charge Method. Sometimes they accept DEBIT cards, but obviously not in your case.

A CREDIT card is a card where the bank is giving you credit and you get a monthly bill from the bank.

Hi @Seller_2sXPUz4xzNBN9,

Steve from Amazon here, thank you for reaching out. I have reviewed your account and see that you are attempting to add a card that is not considered valid. I recommend that you you add an actual credit card that you have to apply for. Debit cards have a range of permissions/functions depending on the bank, cardholder, etc. A debit card may or may not be accepted.

For bank accounts and credit cards, please review this resource and consider the following items below when determining if a card is valid.

  • Is the credit card valid?
  • Is there a minimum charge amount?
  • Are you using a pre-paid card? (Note: Use of a pre-paid card is not accepted for a selling account.)
  • Does the bank have a record of the charge attempt?
  • Are there bank limits or policies that prevent the charge attempt from being authorized?
  • Is there any incorrect credit card information entered? (Note: All the credit card information entered such as number, name, address, ZIP code, or expiration date must be an exact match with your card details.)
  • Is this chargeable in the currency of the Amazon marketplace where you registered your seller account?

Please let me know if you continue to run into issues after adding a valid credit card.

Thanks,

Steve
