Falsely charge on FBA Storage Fees

Hi, I recently sent my first shipment to Amazon. The last update on the shipment was on May 24, and currently, all of my inventory is in Reserved status and not yet available as FBA inventory. However, when I checked the Payment Dashboard, I noticed that FBA inventory storage fees have already been added to my balance. Since my inventory is still in Reserved status and it hasn’t even been a full month yet in terms of my inventory in amazon, I’m confused as to why these charges are appearing. Can I open a case with Amazon to inquire about this ? @Connor_Amazon

FBA storage fees begin the day your shipment is received, and accrues on a daily basis (although is actually charged only once/month).

It doesn't matter if your items have not yet reached their final FC and are therefore in reserve, nor if they are in reserve for any other reason. As long as they are in an Amazon FC, or in transfer between, they are subject to charge.

Is it fair? IMO, no; we shouldn't be charged because it takes Amazon 6 weeks to get an item transferred to another FC.

But it's the way it is.

@Seller_lewTeaGEzZ5IE I'd be happy to jump in here and assist! The Monthly Inventory Storage Fees help page has a lot of great information on the fee details, structure, time of charges, etc.

These storage fees are charged monthly, typically between the 7th and 15th day of the month, in the month following when the fees were incurred.

Your inventory can be in reserved status for many reasons including being tied to a customer order, at a fulfillment center for additional processing, or in transit between fulfillment centers.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you!
