Amazon Transparency Terms Violation

How do I report a brand that is only putting Transparency codes on the items it sells to Amazon.

I made a purchase of a product from this brand and it came to me with no code so I contacted the brand and asked why there were no Transparency codes on the products I purchased from one of their distributors.

They replied: If you are looking for a transparency code, you are unlawfully trying to resell our products and what you're trying to do can go to litigation in federal court.

This is my understanding of the policy: if a product is enrolled in the Transparency program, the brand MUST put a Transparency code on every unit manufactured for that product regardless of where it is being sold.

So, I want to report them, how do I do that?

You don't!

Based on this statement from Transparency,

Can you tell me more about Amazon-issued Transparency codes?

Each Transparency code is a unique, alphanumeric, non-sequential code printed as a small square barcode on your product’s packaging. Transparency is the only entity that owns and has access to the code generation protocol. Additionally, Transparency keeps a record of every code generated along with the product for which it was generated and uses the information to authenticate products.

I don't believe:

The brand is trying to prevent exactly what you are trying to do and I'm 100% behind them.

If you want to rightfully sell the item:

  1. Get authorization from the brand
  2. But inventory through their approved channels

Hello there @Seller_QBPPA1zHNqQAT

Wanted to clear the air here as this actually can be reported!

You can report this through Seller Support while giving them information about the ASIN in question, the brand you are purchasing from, and proof showing you have legitimate product. This information is directly from my contacts within Transparency so please keep me updated!
