How Bias is Amazon for Amazon Fullfilled Orders

As New & Small we are bound by less Resources and shackled with financial instability. With so many charges as well headaches with delivery services, amazon is also bullying small sellers.

I can't send my products to Amazon Fulfillment centers because i can only manage small quantity in double.

For items under 499 amazon shows free delivery for offers for amazon fulfilled and still charges 80 rs at the payment tab.

but for us even if we set price based like 75 shipping for orders below 499 it will show 77 delivery on the offer page.

for ex:

for Amazon fulfillment it shows a product price like 125 + free delivery but charges 80 shipping fee at the time of payment.

for Seller Fulfillment it shows a product price like 125 + 75 delivery, so it counts our price as 200 and their price as 125 and disregards and negates our offer and competitive pricing. only the Big sellers get the fish the market, we get pushed back.

Hi @Seller_mB5S85xeRdrk6

Let me address your concerns and provide some insights.

Regarding sending products to Amazon Fulfillment centers, I recognize that managing inventory can be tricky when you have limited stock. While Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) can offer benefits, it's not always the best fit for every seller, particularly those with smaller inventories. You might want to consider using Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM) until your business grows and you can manage larger quantities.

The issue with delivery charges is a bit complex. For items under ₹499, Amazon often shows "free delivery" for Prime-eligible items, but there is indeed a shipping fee applied at checkout for non-Prime customers. This is part of Amazon's strategy to encourage Prime subscriptions. For seller-fulfilled items, the delivery charge is more transparent upfront, which can make your total price appear higher in comparison.

I understand your concern about how this affects your competitiveness. It's true that this pricing structure can make it challenging for smaller sellers to appear as attractive as larger ones or Amazon-fulfilled items. However, there are a few strategies you might consider:

  • Focus on unique products or niches where you can differentiate yourself from larger sellers.
  • Work on optimizing your product listings to improve visibility and conversion rates.
  • Consider bundling items to increase your average order value and offset shipping costs.
  • Explore Amazon's promotional tools like coupons or lightning deals to attract customers.

It's also worth noting that many customers do look beyond just the price and consider factors like seller ratings, delivery times, and product quality. Building a strong reputation can help you compete effectively even if your prices aren't always the lowest.
