Being charged "Subscription Fee" even though account if on vacation mode
On two separate occasions, I have been charged "Subscription Fee" for MX marketplace, even though I have set the account to vacation mode. I don't sell in Mexico and not sure why I need to be charged. In fact, I had read from another thread that putting the account on vacation mode was exactly what to do to avoid these charges (recommendation from an Amazon personnel on that chat).
Talked to seller support and the person went ahead to submit a "request refund" on my behalf. In just under 1 minute of the request, I received an email stating that it's been declined because I have "used professional selling tools and benefits." This doesn't help in any way to understand exactly why I keep being charged, especially when the account is on vacation mode.

The fee for the NA Unified account may be assessed only against the dot com site, or against all three, the the total charge is the same (or roughly the same, due to currency conversion it will not be exact).
If you want the fee assessed against only the dot com site, remove all listings from the other two -- active or inactive -- and put them on vacation. And disable BIL (synchronization) so listings are not added. And, regularly check to make sure that Amazon has not added any listings in spite of that.
To be clear: putting a selling account on vacation mode does not stop the monthly fee.
The distinction here is just whether the fee is one lump fee, or split into three parts.

The fee is the same for each month. $40. It's either split between multiple marketplaces or charged all for a single marketplace (To the latest of my knowledge)

We also keep getting charged for the Canada store that we have on "inactive" status.
We've had to cancel the credit card associated with this store multiple times in order to get our money back and this problem keeps coming back up each year.
Now we are restricted from listing on our US store even though we have fully paid the fees there. The customer support 'specialist' emailed that we wouldn't be charged more than $39.99 yet we are.
Her email stated "Regardless of the number of Amazon stores you sell through, your total subscription fees will still be limited to no more than the equivalent USD 39.99 per month (exclusive of tax, except in Mexico and Brazil, and any foreign transaction fees charged by your bank or credit issuer). However, you may see these fees billed to your accounts in a different way.
Your subscription fee will be divided across these accounts, and will be charged in the currency of each Amazon store. You will be charged subscription fees only where you have active listings during the current month."
I'm filing a report with the FTC and any other governmental bodies as well as blasting this on social media. Anybody else have a better resolution or experience?
