Selling Laptop on Amazon

I tried to selling big brand laptops on Amazon. Brand already approved( the invoice from supplier submitted). Now, looks like I can use the current Asins to sell, but that’s not my listing. I tried to creating my own listing, the UPC always wrong and get error. Code 8572.

Anyone know how to fix it?

That may not be enough. Do you also have written authorization FROM THE BRAND to sell their products here?

But I know many sellers don't have it too

Unless you are willing to bet your entire future on Amazon on it, do not rely on the fact that "others are doing it" as an excuse to proceed without proper authorization.

I have no idea how they can sell it on Amazon.

It's possible that the brand in question doesn't care. More likely, just that they haven't been caught yet.

Remember, it takes only ONE violation for unauthorized product, and you will NEVER sell on Amazon again.

Good Afternoon @Seller_p1a5FoAIrJ1cC,

It looks like you were able to receive some guidance from one of our seasoned sellers, @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw too regarding listing your products.

If their reply helped you, feel free to mark it as “Most Helpful reply” using the 3 dots in the corner of their post. This helps other sellers find the answer to your question at the top of the post just in case they find themselves in a similar situation.

I wanted to take a moment to share a few help pages that you might want to take a look at for best practices on listing particular products:

Here is the list of the requirements for sourcing documentation:

Copies of invoices, receipts or other similar documents that demonstrate where your products are produced or manufactured

These documents:

  • Should reflect the sales volume of your product across all Amazon marketplaces in the last 365 days
  • Should demonstrate your product’s full supply chain
  • Should include contact information for the supplier(s) and the original manufacturer. We may contact suppliers or manufacturers to verify the documents

Your documents should be able to trace your products to the original manufacturer even if you did not purchase them directly from the original manufacturer. This may require requesting additional invoices or supply chain documentation from your supplier if you are not sourcing directly from the manufacturer.

You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible to enable adequate review of the documents you provide. For ease of our review, you may highlight or circle the ASIN(s) under review.

Additionally, a letter of authorization can also be a valuable addition to your appeal in these situations. If you’re sourcing directly from the brand or their manufacturer.

If you have a relationship with the brand, you can to be added to their list of approved sellers through Brand Registry. Once that has occurred you can attempt to list again and if you still have any issues reach out to support letting them know you are now in the brand's Brand Registry approved list.

Also there is a Seller University resource that addresses Invoice requirements for when you apply to sell.

Lastly, I wanted to reach out to you as you mentioned you were seeing error code 8572. I am linking the Seller Central Help Page Regarding Error Code 8572 for you to take a look at.

Please let us know if we can further assist you or you may always contact Selling Partner Support with inquiries at anytime. Have a wonderful rest of the week.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
