Chargeback pending after 2 months

Hello,

Requesting some assistance on a chargeback.

It was filed on 1/2/25 and I responded to it on 1/3/25.

However it is not been over 2 months and it still says This chargeback is being processed.

It is also counting against my ODR now. I am not sure why because it is still being processed.

Can a mod look into this?

Order: 112-6307518-3085037

It was delivered and signed for by the same name on the order.

Hi @Seller_bOZWgAoHggIb9,

I understand your frustration with the ongoing chargeback situation. Let me share what I found in the help pages about processing times and ODR impact.

According to the "Respond to a chargeback claim" help page here, chargeback resolutions can take "up to 90 days (or longer in rare cases) from the date the charge was represented to the issuing bank." Since you responded on January 3rd, the process might continue until approximately April 3rd.

Regarding why it's affecting your ODR while being processed - I found this information in the "Credit Card Chargeback Rate" section here. The help page explains that chargebacks fall into two categories:

  • A "service chargeback" (where the buyer acknowledges the purchase but claims a problem) will count against ODR while being processed
  • A "fraud chargeback" (where the buyer claims they didn't make the purchase) does not count against ODR

You've done everything right by having delivery confirmation with a matching signature - that's actually one of the recommended best practices mentioned here. For now, it looks like we just need to wait for the chargeback process to complete, which can take up to the 90-day timeline mentioned above.

Hope this helps explain the timeline and ODR situation!
