" I still have inventory that was never destroyed."
You can't close an account that has inventory at Amazon warehouses. If you have done a removal order they will continue to charge (SOME sources say they don't) until they find and send your items back or destroy them. Right now, you are just a cash cow for Amazon and there is no rush for them to move things along!
If you are still being charged $40/month downgrade to individual to save that money.

Hi @Seller_i4zMttfgx2bPg
Connor from Amazon here, thanks for reaching out.
As @Seller_kIukTwdhvntAp already mentioned, you can create a removal order for the products that you want to dispose of.
Here are the steps for creating a removal order: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G200280650
Once all of your inventory is removed, you can close your account.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Connor
