Brand Registry is held by former employee who still has account access

I am working for a large company who had their own amazon seller account and brand registry which was set up by a former employee. The account is still in good standing, and has some items in stock on FBA, but is not accessible anymore as this employee was terminated and is now unable to be reached. Obviously they set themself up as the admin and we don't have the password or OTP which relies on their phone.

I have all necessary permissions from the company to access the account from the owner, how is this resolved? I saw some other cases like this started on the forums, but they don't have a resolution. If I can get this fixed, I WILL post the resolution.

@Quincy_Amazon@Cooper_Amazon I saw both of you answered on past cases.

Thank you!

Hire a PI and track down the former manager. Find out what the asking price will be for them to make changes to the account.

Since they were terminated just bring a blank check or briefcase full of money.

This is only PARTLY not the case.

Amazon is not going to make it easy to get done.

Documents from the USPTO, corporate papers showing authorized officers, and, possibly the termination papers showing the former manager might all be required.

The reason why recovering a lost account is so difficult is because there are 1000s of sellers trying to steal brands/accounts on a daily basis.

Amazon will make it impossible for you to self service this issue. You must involve a moderator.

You will be connected to someone else via your own case log where you can present your case where you provide proof of ownership of the account. If the large company allowed this former employee to both

1. Be the owner of the account

2. Be the registered legal entity of the account.

There is no path back to recovering the account. The company must take legal action to recovering their funds.

Unfortunately, this will take a large amount of time but I do not see another path for this company to get the seller account back.

Why is it so difficult to me to believe all these "lost access" stories?

- Employees using their personal mobile phone to access the account?

- Primary Account Users with a "Delete" button on the User Permission Page?

- Mobile phones without possibility to buy the former (lost....) SIM card?

- Lost access to the email account who created the seller account?

As a few of your fellow sellers stated above, this can be a tricky scenario but want to do what I can to help.

First off, if there is already a case with all proper documentation attached (documents showing your relationship to the brand along with trademark information) please send me the case ID. If there is NOT a case, please create one.

I want to ensure that when I escalate this, all documents are in one spot for ease of communication! Please let me know.

Brands should be registered to company owner, who owns the trademarks. No one employee should be using a private phone to get authentication emails or use authenticator apps, and emails should be going to a business email which all employees have access to.

Regardless, file a case, show all the company paperwork and fill out whatever, and maybe they will help you gain access, but like others posted, there is so much fraud on amazons end and they have no idea how to deal with it or seperate people who are trying to do the right thing here from others who are not.

LOL, I was also in that position and it's making me smile. Big smile. I worked so hard selling their obsolete inventory on *Bay, the job I did was absolutely amazing and the money I brought in for them ... If I had that money now I'd be living on a tropical island somewhere. I was fired when I got too old and my boss wanted a prettier face to look at. I didn't share my passwords either. They couldn't even print postage. How dare they fire me two years before retirement after being an A+ Loyal, Company person for 27 years. Ha ha. That's what happens.
