Compliance issue How to List White Label Products on Amazon When Manufacturer Has BIS Certificate?
I run a white-label electronics brand in India and we outsource our chargers from an OEM manufacturer who already has a valid BIS certificate.
However, Amazon is asking for a BIS certificate in our brand name, even though the product is exactly the same and manufactured by a BIS-certified supplier.
Since we are selling under our brand (label only), is there a way to use the OEM’s BIS certificate legally on Amazon?
Has anyone successfully listed white-label electronics (like chargers, power banks etc.) using the OEM's BIS + authorization letter?
Also, is it mandatory to get a separate BIS certificate under our brand name, even if the OEM has already done the product testing?
Please share your experience or advise how to solve this issue — especially for white-label sellers on Amazon India.

- As per Indian law, if you're selling under your own brand name, you need a BIS certificate in YOUR brand name
- The OEM's BIS certificate cannot be used for your branded products, even with an authorization letter
- This is required even if the product is identical to the OEM's
