Lawsuit Againts Amazon for Enabling Fake Reviews?
Here is the issue.
If you are a vendor seller with Amazon, of which I know many, making you 1P, and you get a negative review that is clearly fake, Amazon will pull the review as fast as you can write the email. Why? Because as a vendor Amazon is incentivized to ensure those listings do best, as it is them selling the inventory.
As a 3P seller, you can receive clearly fake reviews -- they won't even be about the product -- and Amazon won't remove them, as they have to have a vendor somewhere that is benefitting from your brand being hurt.
In my opinion, this feels like an easy lawsuit against Amazon. I have emails showing I've attempted to have them remove the offending reviews, but of course without response or action; amazon wouldn't dare risk hurting their own vendors.
Food for thought.
