Winning the BUY BOX with AMAZON as a seller

My question is simple. If Amazon is the ONLY seller, or even one of the sellers. Are they able to share the BUY BOX equally among sellers of the same product?

I know price and shipping (quality service) are the main factors. So will matching Amazon's price and shipping in the BUY BOX result in Amazon sharing the BUY BOX equally with you?

Please let me know. Thank You!

NB. I do FBA so I will be offering Prime Shipping.

The buy box algorithm is a secret held close to the vest with Amazon. Only one seller can have the buy box at a time. Many factors go into getting the buy box (example-account health and sales history and pricing).

Able? Of course.

Will they? No, of course not. You may even find Amazon out of stock but still holding the buy box.

Doesn't mean you will never see a third party seller with the buy box when Amazon also sells the item -- but it won't happen often.
