Customer search term as ASINs in report

Im spending a decent amount of money on my CPC ads on search terms that are ASIN numbers. some of these are completely different that my product. How am I supposed to use negative search terms on ASINs? Im probably mistaken on this and its just how it comes through based on how the customer searched for a product. Maybe google or bing click comes through as ASIN and not search term?

Im mostly nervous about bot clicks.

Hello @Seller_6RGcF27IbqNYa

This is Roberto. Thank you for posting to the Forums, I have looked into your concerns and the entries on your reports do in fact correspond to ASIN numbers and not the typical search terms.

You will only see ASIN-related entries listed as customer search terms for your Sponsored Brands automatic-targeted campaigns and product-attribute-targeted ad groups, as well as Sponsored Brands product-attribute-targeted campaigns. You can find more details on this below:

Search term report for Sponsored Brands

I would highly encourage you to reach out to our Advertising team for support on how to block ASINs through negative targeting.

Sincerely,

Roberto

pretty sure you can use ASIN targets as negatives just like you would for a search term as a negative!

like the amazon rep replied, that is when your ad is appearing on a product page, and the ASIN in question is the page it was appearing on, and i think you could jsut drop it right into the negatives if you want to not appear on those pages in the future!

not bot clicks, just a caveat of auto targeting campaigns! they were probably targeting that ASIN not because of the ASIN itself, but because of the custom who was viewing it (ie targeting the individual customer, vs the actual ASIN)
