Error 8541 - While trying to edit an active listing fulfilled by Amazon
I'm trying to edit a listing that is currently active and fulfilled by Amazon. The listing is currently sold under the brand name ''Free Water'' and I'm trying to change it to ''Canots Legare''. The reason is that the brand name ''Free Water'' doesn't exist anymore. We now produce all our products under the brand name ''Canots Legare''.
Is there a way to change the brand name in this situation? Would it be easier for me to delete all my listings that are currently sold under the brand name ''Free Water'' and re-list them under ''Canots Legare''? If I do this, what will happen to the product that is fulfilled by Amazon, such as ASIN B078C7VQDV? Will Amazon send me back the product that is currently left in their warehouse?
Here's my error message : 8541: The value 'Canots Legare' specified cannot be used as it conflicts with the value 'Free Water' for ASIN 'B078C7VQDV' in the Amazon catalogue. If this is ASIN 'B078C7VQDV', update the value to match the ASIN data. If this is a different product, update identifying information (UPC/EAN/Part Number/etc.).

Dougal here and I can provide some additional insight on your issue and error 8541. Changing the brand name of an existing ASIN violates the Amazon brand Name Policy. What you are describing would be considered re-branding and is not supported. You can find this on the Product detail page rules help page.
To sell the product under a different brand name, you will need to create a new ASIN. Assuming the packaging is changing because of the brand name change, you can sell through that inventory (Since they will be different ASINs). If you choose to have a clear cut-over and want to remove all the old inventory, you can do that as well. Please review the Remove inventory from a fulfillment center help page for those instructions.
