Buyer wants Next Day shipping which I don't offer--how do I add the extra shipping cost to their order?
Buyer placed an order and then messaged me to say they want to pay extra for Next Day shipping. I don't normally offer that but would be happy to make an exception for them. But I can't figure out how to add $32 to their order to charge them for the Next Day shipping. If I have them add extra merchandise from my store to make up the extra $, Amazon will take a fee on it.
Surely there's a simple way to add an extra shipping charge to the order of a customer who requested it?

There is no way to add a shipping charge on Amazon after the fact. If you are approved for premium shipping, you could add the option to your shipping template if you are on the professional plan and you are approved for premium shipping options and then have the buyer put in a cancellation request and place a new order. You mentioned the possibility of the buyer ordering more items that you don't actually ship to go towards the shipping cost for Next Day, and expressed concern that you would then have to pay the 15% to Amazon. Be aware that you already have to pay the 15% to Amazon regardless, even on shipping charges, so it wouldn't make any difference. Also be aware that Amazon refunds outbound shipping if the buyer decides to return something and it gets refunded with RFS which is likely if the item is under $100. For this reason, I don't offer any premium shipping services on Amazon.

I'm thinking of making a custom listing for the customer and having them add it to the cart on a new order. The problem is that I will have to charge them 15% more than the shipping price I already quoted them to make up for the commission that Amazon will take, because I need that money to cover the Next Day shippping cost. So both Amazon and I will come out looking bad to the customer. THANKS SO MUCH , AMAZON

Since PRIVATE LISTINGS are apparently no longer available, looks like my only choice is to have the customer buy multiples of my product and then I'll refund them a few dollars for going over the $32. And I'll end up eating the extra 15% because that's just my fault for being dumb enough to sell on Amazon.
This is the ridiculous amount of hoops Amazon is forcing me to jump through just to make a customer happy and fulfill a simple request that is SIMPLE AND EASY to do on ANY OTHER SHOPPING PLATFORM from ebay to etsy.

send it exactly as your order states.
You have no other viable choice.
Amazon makes the rules.

You don't want to deal with the customer that paid EXTRA and it comes a day late. This proposition is a LOSE-LOSE - better to let the sale go. Trust me, I have done this one too many times, not worth it!

You need to spend some time in the seller university. There are a lot of moving pieces on Amazon. If you aren't paying attention, or don't know what all of those pieces do... then you (ie; your business) are likely to be injured.
