A-z claim refund with proof of delivery

The customer opens a claim they never received the item on A-Z claim.

The items costs CA$871.78.

Without any investigation the Amazon just issued the customer full amount.

While at the same time customer messaged us saying they had fully "received" the item but in damaged condition.

When we offered to pick up the item from them the customer claims they had already disposed off the item.

We have Proof of Delivery from UPS that claims they had "MET" the recipient and customer's own admission that they had received the item in the message box.

Amazon's resolution to the issue states:

"you provided sufficient information that proves that the order was actually received by the customer"

If Amazon says everything was done right from seller's end then why should seller pay for it?

What is the point of A-Z claim appeal if seller will always lose even if they are on the right?

Was the shipping label bought on Amazon Buy Shipping Services? Was it scanned in by the carrier service by the specified shipping date?
