INR under Invoice Request Message

So yet another INR yesterday from a customer claiming to want an invoice request but in the body of the message just telling me she did not get her order despite it showing delivered and despite USPS confirming to me that it was dropped off at the correct location via GPS coordinates.

I half wanted to respond like a bot and say 'your invoice can be printed from your order details'.

I suppose this is how scammers try to hide their INR shenanigans from Amazon...beware... and Report such messages as I did with this one.

That's a good guess. Simple explanation --- clueless buyer -- and there are plenty. But your theory is a definite possibility. Pressure for refund without actually filing yet another claim.
