Distributors to Amazon Labelling Services

Hi there,

If I were to have a distributor/supplier send my inventory directly to Amazon Prep & Labelling Services, do I have to provide the labels to the distributor for the distributor to send to Amazon along with the inventory?

Or does Amazon Labelling Service provide the labels themselves to stick it onto the inventory once the products arrive?

The reason I ask is because I've been looking into having the distributors/suppliers to send the inventory straight to Amazon so Amazon can prep & label the products. And along the way, I heard and read that I, as the Amazon seller, need to send labels to the distributor. And then the distributor send the inventory + labels to the Amazon Prep & Label Service.

Can anyone shed any light to how that really goes?

Terms and conditions

By enabling the FBA Label Service, you agree to allow Amazon to apply barcode labels to your eligible inventory in accordance with the following terms and conditions:

We will apply Amazon barcodes to your eligible items upon arrival at the fulfillment center using the product information that you provide.

  • You will be charged a $0.55 per-item fee.
  • You can choose to apply barcode labels to individual products yourself by selecting Merchant under Who labels during the shipment creation process.
  • We may instruct you to divide shipments so that items destined for the FBA Label Service are packed together.
  • Shipments directed to the FBA Label Service may be further divided into multiple shipments.

I would always recommend having the shipments sent to you before you send into FC's. This way you can check product quality and label the products yourself. That will help the margins.
