Current recomendations for shipping to FBA in the EU

Hi
It’s time for me to start back with the EU. Any useful advice is appreciated.
I am VAT registered, EORI etc, etc so we don’t need to go over any of that.

Can anyone recommend any companies for shipping to the EU?
Which country is easier France or Germany?
I will start sending with a few boxes (reasonably large and 15kg each) and then move on to pallets.

Thanks in advance.

We have been advised to ship to Germany as its a bigger marketplace. We use Avalara for our fiscal representation and we are using OTX for shipping.

We have just signed up to the AVASK system. If you email them they will provide you with the information.
We will send the stock (using ‘non-partnered carrier UPS or DPD’) to a UK Amazon Centre and they ship it to Germany.
They have another system that uses UPS partnered carrier all the way to Germany, not sure what the rates are for this though.

Hopefully going to send the first shipment next week or the week after.
They are only doing boxes just now, not pallets.

I was away yesterday but glad to help but the posts already given is pretty good advice.

First of all you want to be sending it to France and then doing FBA (Pan-EU) so it will get dispatched to Germany.

It is possible to do it through Germany and you need fiscal representation no matter what and you can find a rep to do either but it is far more easier to filter it through France because they will not only allow it to go through more smoothly but you will not have to front up the tax and then go through the hassle of having to claim it back. You will also be sending your goods from the UK to a UK Amazon hub and they will then take care of getting it into France. If you do the German route, you have to deal with getting it to France and setting up a German UPS account etc so a bit of a noghtmare. (I have now walked both paths, Germany first and then France). I will only do it through the France route now.

Avask are running a promotion on this but it maybe invite only but still worth pursuing if you are intent on doing it. It doesn’t matter if you are using Avalara for your filing, they are pretty useless anyway. I am with Avalara and I actually wish I was using AVASK for everything as they seem to be on the ball with it but want to help you rather than saying they don’t do advice unless you give them £150 up front, then the potential to spend a lot more if you need to deal with problems they created (ooh I need to stop myself).

Morning Onlyfools,

Just my experience below:
Cheaper to ship into France, but the FBA fees in France are typically more expensive than Germany - Just need to work out if the cost of shipping outweighs the FBA fees. France is easier from a paperwork point of view.

K&N are great for shipments into France - Super cheap and very quick
Supreme are good for Germany, they can ship through the Netherlands, removing the need for representation. Expensive though.

I know you do not seek advice on other matters, but just be aware of things like anti dumping duty etc.
