How can I find out how much Amazon will charge per item for shipping when a customer buys it?

Hi, I am new to Amazon Seller and wanted to ask a few questions and get some feedback. I have an item I'd like to sell on Amazon—let’s say it’s a 16oz bottle of liquid for pets. My plan is to make 50 bottles at home and ship them to Amazon to be listed and sold on Amazon.com.

My main question is: how can I find out how much Amazon will charge per item for shipping when a customer buys it? Will there be a charge, or will it qualify for free Amazon Prime shipping?

If it costs me $2 to make each item and I send them to Amazon to store, package, and ship, how can I calculate if it will be profitable if i sell it for $15? I ask because if I were to ship it myself, it would cost around $8 to $10+ per item, and I’m concerned that Amazon’s fees might be similar, which would impact my profits.

Thank you for your help!

If you send it to FBA, shipping will be free for all prime customers, $6.99 if they are not prime members and they purchase only your product and free again if if they are not prime members, purchase $35 worth of products in one Amazon order and opt for the free shipping option.

Have you used the FBA profit calculator? Have you made any sales for this product on Amazon? You don't want to send a lot to FBA at first. Try maybe 10 products and see how it goes. That also gives you some time to learn how Amazon works, especially FBA. Stick around the forum and read posts...

Also, reconsider your store name!

Amazon Seller Code of Conduct says that sellers should never misrepresent themselves, which includes using Amazon’s trademarked terms in store names.

Good Evening @Seller_JmGSvuZZe68Hd,

It looks like you were able to receive some guidance from a few of our seasoned sellers on the forums regarding shipping fees.

If any of their response helped you, feel free to mark it as “Most Helpful reply” using the 3 dots in the corner of their post. Just in case others have the same issue, the Most Helpful Reply feature brings the selected response right to the top of your thread. Sellers will be able to see the answer right away as your discussion will have a green checkmark when searched within the forums.

I also wanted to share the Revenue Calculator which is a preview tool that allows you to compare revenue estimates for products based on the fulfillment channel used. Easily see which fees apply to each fulfillment option and enter sales volume estimates to calculate total proceeds, as well as per-unit sold estimates.

Please let us know if we can help answer any more of your questions or you may reach out to Selling Partner Support at anytime. Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
