Competitor has been leaving fake, negative reviews with mulitple violations and has been reported with evidence yet reviews remain
Hello,
I have reported a competitor for leaving multiple negative reviews and for violating multiple Community Guidelines and the Seller Code of Conduct using the following methods however the reviews have still not been taken down:
- Using the 'Report' button next to the review
- Reporting the reviewer's profile
- Sending an email to community-help@amazon.com
- Reporting the abuse via the Account Health page (unfortunately due to a character limit I was not able to fully detail the evidence - I only had space to include 3 links and no screenshots so I would understand why they may not agree it was a competitor however the complaint ID is 13969403371)
So in line with this post So you want to remove a customer review? I am detailing the evidence I have gathered (with personal/sensitive information removed which is required by the forum rules and I have not included any links to the reviews otherwise they could be identified however this was all sent in my email). Although the sleuthing techniques I used to determine it was a competitor are quite niche, they could be useful to other sellers. Fortunately in my case the competitor was not as sophisticated as some of the other competitors I have read about on this forum as they have used their own personal reviewer account to write the reviews.
This is the main review I would like removed for violating Community Guidelines:

Although the Community Guidelines don't allow profanity, I'm not sure whether the mild profanity "crap" qualifies. If it does then this should be sufficient reason alone to remove it however this is not the reason why I am reporting it.
This review is the latest of five reviews which they have left on my products (one of which did appear to get taken down), and they have left a total of at least 7 reviews (including the removed one) on this type of product as can be seen from their profile:

The red borders denote reviews they have left on my products which are all basically the same product just varying in size/color (so I believe they are a violation of the Community Guidelines: "Multiple negative reviews for the same product from one customer" & "A negative review from a seller on a competitor's product"), the yellow border denotes a review which I believe they have left for their own product (again another violation - although the product is no longer listed), and the blue border is for a review on a different competitor's product similar in functionality to my own but a different design so it is a violation not only because it is left by a competitor but also because it is a review written as a form of promotion - namely promoting their own product.
How I was able to determine it was a competitor
Unfortunately it was quite an involved process so I hope this isn't too difficult to follow - especially as I had to blank out the identifying details!
The reviewer tried to disguise their identity by having their name as just their initials so it didn't start off easy, however when I hovered over this review's title:

I could see at the end of the link was the product's ASIN, when I searched for it Amazon I found it was no longer listed however when I searched for this ASIN on the internet archive I discovered it had been archived and the same review was there with the same date but the reviewer's name was instead their full name rather than just their initials:

So they have changed their name at some point - possibly to make it more difficult to determine who it is. Also note the reviewer is promoting a product made of wood (which I believe is their own) and is likely to be violating the Community Guideline by leaving "a review by the product manufacturer, posing as an unbiased shopper". As a side note, they are also promoting their product being made of wood again on a different review (the blue bordered review) which is as follows:

Note that again they are promoting their own product made of wood on another online marketplace - these points are significant and I will return to them later.
As there is a limit of 5 images for each post I will reply to this post with the rest of the evidence.

Continued evidence from the original post:
On the archived webpage there was another review from a different reviewer which is worth noting too.

Here the reviewer mentions the Seller's company name whose product is made of out of wood. When I searched for this Seller on Amazon I discovered the following Seller profile, again looking at the reviews this wood product is mentioned in the feedback by buyers several times.

Crucially, when I scroll to the Detailed Seller Information section, the Business Name matches exactly the name of the reviewer given in archived version of the yellow bordered review.

When I search for this product on the other online marketplace, I found the product made of wood with the same Company name as the Amazon Seller profile listed the description and an abbreviated version of the reviewer's name as the seller's ID. This means the reviewer has also likely been breaking the Seller code of conduct which states: "All sellers must not attempt to damage or abuse another seller, their listings or ratings".

Please note this is the only product of this type that I can find which is currently on sale and is made of wood, the rest are made of Aluminum. This concludes my evidence for showing that a competitor has been leaving negative reviews on my products.
I kindly request the removal of all these reviews and due to the number of violations involved, I request that the reviewer be prevented from making reviews on my products in the future (which is in line with the "Consequence for violations" policy of the Community Guidelines) as they clearly have little regard for the Community Guideless and their actions are harming the customer experience and the trustworthiness of product reviews on which many Amazon customers rely upon.

Hello @Seller_clhyXuTXShNxA,
Thank you very much for the post here and such details. I would like to route this further but can you please assist me with the following:
-Confirm the request is for a product review removal
-Identify each Order ID associated with the feedback you are requesting to be removed
-A shortened summary of the reason you believe these are fraudulent
-Include any Case IDs you have submitted in addition to requesting via Feedback Removal
This information will be helpful in obtaining approval for this issue to receive an internal team review. After receiving this information, they can review to determine next steps.
Thank you very much!
Kindest regards,
