Brand Registry Issues - Delete ASIN

OK, this is partly me venting and also wondering if Brand Registry actually works.

I have an ASIN that I have been selling for over 8 years, I have the brand name registered with Brand Registry, and I have two patents on the item.

About a week ago I noticed the title was changed by another party (I cannot confirm who or what changed it) and it changed the title to include a false statement about the product. It was updated to claim there were more items included than there actually are.

I did not think much of it, so I went to update the title back to what is was and waited 24 hours. After 24 hours, the title did not update, so I did the normal seller support to request that the title be updated.

I received the stock answer:

"I have conducted my review and would like to inform that the required updates have been made and the updated detail page will reflect in 48 hours."

So 48 hours go by and still no update, so I responded to the case and asked for an update. The new response informed me:

"Please note that you previously entered the attribute value you now want to change. When an ASIN is linked to your brand, Amazon increases the strength of your contributions and may prevent changes to specific attributes after their initial entry"

and a statement about the attribute being locked.

I check my detail page, and the title field is not locked so I went back to the case and asked again for the update. I was then informed that Amazon had updated something and to upload a new product update via the file upload and it should make the update. Once again, I waited, and the update did not get updated.

Now I am in the position where they are telling me I have to delete my ASIN and then wait 48 hours to re-list it! And the past two requests for information I send in are just responding with the same canned answer about deleting the ASIN.

Now here is my big issue with this whole thing, I have had other occurrences where an old brand name (not in brand registry) conflicts with a registered brand, and if I go to make updates to my listing, I get told:

"Kindly inform you that, it appears the detail page associated with this ASIN is controlled by the brand owner. Any product-related information must be approved by them."

I have 14+ brands registered and have other people trying to sell my items, and I have never once got a request to "make an update" from another seller.

How can someone/something update the title on my item that has Brand Registry and not get the same notification I get when they try and update one of my items? And then why do I have to delete the ASIN to make the corrections? And what is to stop the update from making the change again.

As I mentioned, just venting. Any guidance would be appreciated.
