Sellers time and existence are as important as buyers...
Since September 2024, I have enjoyed selling on Amazon until we encountered opportunistic sellers targeting one of our listings.
In our effort to prove authenticity, despite all sellers sourcing from the same supplier, we received another inauthenticity complaint. This resulted in a decline in our account health rating, the removal of our listing, and a lengthy process to resolve the issue.
These sellers know how to exploit the system, deliberately hindering competitors while Amazon’s resolution process takes time. However, my concern is not about proving authenticity, as I am prepared for that. My question is, once the matter is resolved, what happens next? Will Amazon protect our seller account moving forward, or will we continue facing repeated attacks without proper safeguards?
If it is the latter, this will make it difficult for sellers to sustain their businesses, ultimately forcing many to give up. As sellers, we need a fair process that ensures false complaints do not easily impact our standing. There should also be obligations for those making claims to provide evidence, a better-defined system for handling disputes, and a trust ranking for customer reviews, as not all feedback is genuine.
If these issues persist, Amazon’s selling platform risks being weakened rather than strengthened...
